Our St. Michaels School Site offers a year-round, full day Preschool Program as well as before and after school programs for children in kindergarten through sixth grade. The program for school age children is available all day during school vacations and the summer months. All programs operate from 6:45 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Staff members are trained in early childhood education and certified in CPR and First Aid. 

Preschool Program:

Our teachers work hard to provide a challenging curriculum that builds self-esteem as well as skills. This program for children ages 3 and 4 features a theme related curriculum in art, music, and literature. Developmentally appropriate activities such as block building, dramatic play, and using sand/water tables are also employed. The staff is trained in the Work Sampling System, which is an assessment tool to gauge the readiness of each child to enter the next program successfully. The teacher/child ratio is 1:10. 

Before and After School Program:

The activities for this mixed age group include the use of puzzles, games, arts and crafts and construction materials, as well as computer activities and homework assistance. Supervised large motor exercise is provided in the gym and outdoors. The emphasis in the after school program is on providing a safe and secure environment for school aged children to relax and share with each other.
