Our Pre School Site provides care for children ages 2 through Pre-Kindergarten. It operates year-round, Monday through Friday from 6:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. A state approved Pre-Kindergarten for 4-year olds is offered during school months. Staff members are all trained in early childhood education and certified in CPR and First Aid. 

Program for 2-Year Olds:

EDCC's Toddler Program teaches language development, independence and such social skills as communicating needs and feelings to peers and adults. Block building, sand and water play, puzzles, art, music and reading aloud are some of the activities that are part of the 2-year old day. Teachers assist toddlers with potty training if needed. The teacher-child ration is 1:6.

Preschool Program:

Our teachers work hard to provide a challenging curriculum that builds self-esteem as well as skills. This program features a theme related curriculum in all content areas. The staff are trained in the Work Sampling System, which is an assessment tool to gauge the readiness of each child to enter the next program successfully. The teacher-child ratio is 1:10.

Pre-Kindergarten Program:

This program offers the Talbot County Public Schools' curriculum with a staff-child ratio of at least 1:10 and a class size that ranges from 11-20 children. It operates from 8:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with extended planned activities before and after these times. The Pre-K Program follows the Talbot County Public Schools' school year calendar. The curriculum includes Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Health, Journal Writing, Computer Time, Art, Music, and outdoor activities.
